Innovative Design is a Winner!
We were a bit uncertain when choosing this faucet for our kitchen remodel, if only because the PVC neck and hose was a big unknown, and something I'd never personally seen on a Kitchen Faucet before. We decided to give it a chance, and have been using it for 4 months now and couldn't be happier.
First things first, my concerns about the PVC hose have been completely alleviated, it is the best part of the design! You can tell when moving it around that it has some serious reinforcement inside (probably a steel mesh of some sort), and the UV treatment is holding up very well with no fading even though the faucet gets multiple hours of California sunshine every day (because we're lazy and haven't hung the new window treatments yet, we'll get there I promise!).
And the reason why I love it so much, this new way of thinking about a Kitchen Faucet really encourages you to unhook and take advantage of the flexibility the PVC neck allows you. Have a water pitcher to fill? Set it on the counter, the neck reaches outside the sink no problem. It also helps encourage me to keep the sink clean, as it's so easy to unhook and spray down the corners and sides of the sink. We've previously had both other kinds of pull outs, the kind that reals back into the faucet and the kind that's a completely separate piece, and I had never really noticed those older designs really discouraged me from using them; from balky return mechanisms to a terrible secondary spray, they were never not a pain. With this new design though, it's right there in your face, super easy to snap out and move around, and clicks back in just as easy when you're done. No muss, no fuss.
My better half took care of the install, and she reports it was very easy, with the supply cables already hooked to the faucet, the whole installation took less than 30 minutes. Durability has so far been top notch, all the metal pieces are really high quality plated brass that look like they will last longer than the kitchen, and the reinforced PVC hose is equally heavy-duty. I also really like that they used a nice plastic piece at the end of the arm where the hose clips to it. With all the clipping and unclipping as explained above this piece will get the most stress of the whole faucet, and it's good to see that I can replace just that if it ever happens to break and won't have to buy a whole new thing.
Oh and one last note, I noticed there is a knock-off of this design available for a little more than half-price, but oh boy do you get what you pay for. The hose didn't appear to be reinforced at all, the clip at the end of the arm was all of one piece (if it breaks, you need a whole new faucet), and the control handle looked to be the cheapest piece of metal they could find. This Kalia faucet is head and shoulders above, and I could not recommend more highly if looking for an interesting focal point for your kitchen.

Interesting shape and function. I like the mechanical look. Like the black hose curvy shape. Too early for love. Just installed.
